So many couples who are getting married dream of a wedding day that is an extension of who they are. They want their love story to shine through in the emotions and in the details of the day. They wish to celebrate their love in the company of their nearest and dearest family and friends. They hope that their wedding looks beautiful but also overflows in love and joy and heartfelt moments. Here at Cottage Luxe, we believe that your wedding design – the look and feel of the larger design as well as the intricate details – is the perfect way to showcase who you are, what’s most important to you as a couple, and to tell your love story through meaningful and intentionally chosen details. The people who go before us, paving our way, are so intricately tied to our own stories, and there is so much meaning and depth when you tie in legacy, familial or cultural traditions, heirloom details, or even a wedding location, like a homeplace, filled with your family’s heritage and generations of memories.
Turning a family home place, a historic farm or land, your grandmother’s gardens, or a private estate filled with a plethora of history and meaning will, in turn, ensure that your wedding is forever a part of the history of that land or that home and bring an abundance of meaning into the details and design of your wedding. These home place weddings hold such a special place in our heart, as they can look effortlessly elegant, rooted in meaning and significance, endlessly overflowing in possibilities, and provide the most unforgettable, intentional setting for your wedding to unfold and your marriage to begin. We adore heartfelt weddings, and there’s little we love celebrating more than strong family ties that are firmly rooted in legacy, home, and joy.
Halee and Landon’s wedding exemplified this so beautifully and was such a sweet and beautiful nod to what’s most important to them and their families. Their families played an integral part of their wedding, and their wedding day unfolded on what they referred to as the “home place.” Two sisters built homes on the family land, which you can see off in the distance. The house and the barn where much of the wedding took place (from the ceremony to the cocktail hour to the dinner) is lovingly referred to as the home place, and you the entire Smith clan was so Southern and effused warmth, joy, and love into every detail, every interaction, and every moment on the wedding day, as well! Members of the family even helped us set up the ceremony chairs, which goes to show you just how warm and helpful these families were.
Halee and Landen were married on a beautiful day filled with an abundance of sunshine, and their vows were exchanged under a lush grove of Southern pecan trees on her family land. Their treasured families and friends sat in the quintessential Cottage Luxe Eden x-back chairs during their ceremony, which were the perfect accessory and were nestled beautifully under the pecan trees. Of course, we repurposed these chairs to the Cottage Luxe signature farm tables after the ceremony!
We especially loved their use of our signature wooden farm tables throughout the day, as the Cottage Luxe Gathering tables were used for a laid-back and Southern cocktail hour and our farm tables and wooden x-back chairs were used for the alfresco dinner. We especially loved the sweetheart table set for the bride and groom with a rust colored linen runner, a garland of greenery, and colorful blooms framing the bride and groom’s spot. A gorgeous, elegant lounge in classic neutral tones was set under a towering tree, which provided the perfect backdrop (and shade!) for this effortless spot to gather. With an airstream mobile bar setup, endless love and laughter from their family and friends, market lights twinkling overhead, and the most beautiful golden hour light, it was such a heartfelt and celebratory day as Halee and Landen were married!
We adore Annie and Mike’s wedding which also embodied a heartfelt “home place” wedding in every way! This entire wedding day was so family-oriented and overflowing with happiness, and Cottage Luxe was very honored to be a part of Annie and Mike’s wedding at a family barn. Annie and Mike grew up down the block from each other and grew up hanging out together, though he was a few years older than she. They went their own way, had long term relationships that ended, and ten years later, Mike knocked on Annie’s parent’s door. He was back in town, and Annie was home visiting… they started talking and hanging out as friends, and the rest, as they say, is history!
Annie’s mother surprised her with the Cottage Luxe Lore lounge area, which was such a thoughtful and generous surprise to the bride and groom! The lounge really elevated the feel of the barn and provided such a memorable focal point. We’ll never forget how beautiful this family barn looked decked out in some of our iconic furniture. We also received the sweetest thank you note from the bride sharing with us that she’d never seen the barn look more beautiful than it had on their wedding day, thanks to the lounge. We love being a part of such special, thoughtful surprises, and we couldn’t think of a more devoted and loving family to help pull this one off!
Cottage Luxe also provided our signature farm tables, Eden wooden x-back chairs, and Biscayne rattan chargers for the guest dinner tables in the barn for Annie and Mike’s reception. We love seeing how these pieces helped elevate the rustic look of the barn. There were casually elegant neutral place settings and lush greenery to round out the dinner table design, along with romantic candlelight and market lights overhead.
Tented, ballroom, barn, family land, historic home, modern, you name it: we love providing casually elegant and effortlessly beautiful rentals for all types of weddings. These examples of home place weddings really showcase the importance of family and legacy, two foundations of marriage. The beautiful and meaningful locations, details, and design are very apparent, as well as the love and joy displayed by the couples, their families, and their friends. We can think of nothing sweeter!
